dear dears - we just returned from Marrakech - a place we've always dreamed of visiting & it exceeded all of our expectations !
rich in culture & history - from the 12th century, kind & warm people, incredible meals of couscous, fish, lamb, game & seafood - heaven !
amazing hand-made products of metal, silk, wool, cotton, leather, pottery, silver, wood, spices, teas & herbs - bursting with color & wonderful aroma.
my friend Zineb from Chicago referred us to her parents who arranged guided tours of riads & gardens, day trips to the mountains & the beach - Essaouira & museums.
they made reservations for us at a variety of great restaurants & invited us for drinks & dinner at their beautiful home which is adjacent to the house that we rented from them. Mohammed & Najat Chraibi were so welcoming & made us feel like a part of their family. Najat took us to the Medina where she negotiated everything in Arabic & French to get the most incredible prices ! We came home with treasures: beautiful rugs from the Atlas mountains that are dyed with pigment from cumin, saffron, poppy and more - hand-woven silk fabric, scarves, iron lanterns, wax candle holders & slippers galore.
We feel so fortunate to have had our first & definitely not our last experience in Morocco with such nice people who generously gave of their time and information to insure that we had the best experience possible in their beautiful country.
Il faut y aller ou re-aller ! Les Morocains sont SUPER - je peux encore sentir leur chaleur, les parfums, les couleurs. J'ai hate de revenir - ne hesitez pas a contacter les Chraibi a itineranceplus@gmail.com

Thank you for organizing our wonderful trip to Morocco; we loved everything! You have a very beautiful country and we were thrilled to see so much of it. The enormity of your date palm oases was overwhelming; the vastness of the Erb Chebbi Dunes; the workshops in Fes were amazing----that 11th century tannery and the view from the roof looking down on all their dyeing vats and skins drying in the sun! All of the hotels were so lovely and so different. We wish we could have stayed longer in the Kasbah on the oasis in Skoura; our rooms in the tower were so unique. Our favourite places were the riads where we stayed in Fes and Marrakech: to leave the crazy, noisy, crowded souks in the medina and enter a haven of peace and beauty is a complete surprise.. The courtyards, gardens, roof terraces, exquisite architecture and tilework, private balconies....were a welcome respite and a cultural lesson as well….
Gracious! I forgot to mention how much we enjoyed Atman; having a driver was so helpful in such a foreign country and we learned so much about your culture , history and tribes from him. He was VERY patient; our questions can be relentless! Also, he was a very good driver which was a good thing with the other cars, trucks and buses on the road. Each of your guides was great...we got a wonderful understanding of Islam, separating culture and traditions from the religion from our guide in Casablanca: the mosque there is not to be believed....we were glad to be able to go INSIDE and experience all the rooms and learn about their functions.
Thanks for everything,
Wendy Kilcollin

Dear Mohammed—Please forgive me for being so long in thanking you for all of your planning, attention and kindness in arranging a truly memorable trip to Morocco
The visit to Al Akhawayn University was most interesting and the V.P. who showed us around was informative and charming. The University is definitely a “must see” and the contrast of it and Ifrane with the rest of the country gave us an entirely new perspective on Morocco. Riad Alf Lila wa Lila is out of a fairy tale. – unquestionably the place to stay in Fez – and then served us a superb meal. All in all, it was a memorable evening. The additional guide you had arranged for in Fez -- Momo – was truly extraordinary. We spent the entire day with him and “bonded,” as they say. When we return to Morocco -- and we most surely plan to so at the earliest occasion – more time in Fez with Momo is at the top of our priorities.
As fascinating, unique, and wonderful as Morocco is, we would not have enjoyed it nearly so much, come away with such an deep affection for the people, or developed the appreciation we did for the country’s complexities, contradictions, and mysteries had it not been for your planning and personal concern. We cannot thank you enough for all of your attention and friendship. We left Morocco feeling as though we had not just seen a new and wonderful country but that we had made new and wonderful friends: you, Naget, and your daughter. We have described our visit to the Souks with Naget many times, and each time we tell the story the memories of that frantic, fascinating “run” through the Medina flood back with extraordinary vividness and humor. What a great morning! The evening in your home was also most special, and we thank you for your generosity and friendship.

The Sidi Fares by mountain bike trip gave us a classic dirt-track bike ride on a beautiful spring day. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the snow-covered High Atlas Mountains, a not-too-steep 20km climb took us amongst berber villages. Following a picnic lunch in one of the villages we cycled another 5km before embarking on an adrenaline-pumping 15km descent towards the town of Asni. A truly fantastic experience.
The level of service provided by ItinerancePlus from start to finish was second to none and their local knowledge proved invaluable. We were escorted the whole way by 4WD and were provided with frequent drinks stops. Lunch was a highly civilised affair and we ate sitting on picnic chairs around a little table. The route around the villages appeared to be little used and we struggled to see any other vehicle, let alone another tourist, despite being only 40km from Marrakech. We wholeheartedly recommend this trip to any fairly fit novices or experienced mountain bikers.

Over our last stay in Morocco, while browsing the Net, we were appealed by the passionate « cultural memos » that we read in Itineranceplus’s web site. We felt enticed to go for “Aghmat and Tasghimout Fortress” which is one of the one-day excursions displayed on their site and we didn’t regret it. For the landscapes we have been walking through were just gorgeous and Itineranceplus’s personnel was really professional and warm. On top of this, we learned a lot about 11th and 12th history of Morocco.

I took the Haim Ben Diwan excursion offered by Itineranceplus and I really liked it, because of the natural beauty of the itinerary and because it has been comforting to learn that Jews and Moslems in rural Morocco share common beliefs and venerate common saints. I have to mention also the delicious lunch that we ate in a charming “auberge de campagne”. This excursion is enchanting for both the body and the spirit.
It was my first attempt at hiking, and I wish I should have the opportunity to try other excursions offered by Itineranceplus to which I am very thankful.

We are two travel agents in Zurich (Switzerland) and we stayed in Morocco from 6 to 20 October 2001 with our three kids, for pleasure and to expand our business there. Itinerancplus designed our travel and implemented it with a rare professionalism. We enjoyed a wonderful round trip in southern Morocco which included: Agadir, Tafraout, Tata, Erg Chigaga, Sidi Khalil, Zagora, Merzouga, Goulmima, Tinghir, Todra and Dades gorges, Boumalne, Kasba Ait Ben Haddou, Marrakech. We were driven in a luxurious Landcruiser, we stayed in charming kasba-hotels an we enjoyed good meals. We were taken to a few places not even mentioned in the guides we had and where we did not encounter the slightest tourist (i.e. Zaouia of Sidi Ahmad u Mussa, Zaouia of Mghimima, de Foucault's house in Agadir Tissint..). our visits were documented with very good written stuff and live comments. We gratefully thank Itineranceplus for this memorable trip. Karin & Christoph. travel@delsolar.ch
